Volunteering for Benefits

Utilization of current USCG Auxiliary members who already have basic security clearances, training and availability of time to volunteer to the USCG / DHS based tasks, manpower and program relief tasks in exchange for additional government based benefits like; Healthcare through current military facilities, Use of more base privileges; ie: exchange and commissary.

I personally am a member of the USCG Aux and would highly participate in more mandated volunteer programs vs. hours of committed services to be able to have some of the privileges I once had as an active duty member. If given the opportunity to volunteer 50 man hours of work per month based on a skill set or training certification I already have with the USCG / DHS in exchange for healthcare for my family (dependant TRICARE) the cost vs. savings could be substantial for the government.
